How We Curate Competitions

Every listing on StudentCompetitions.com is reviewed by our editorial team before publication.

StudentCompetitions.com has curated student competitions since 2011. We believe students deserve accurate, up-to-date information about opportunities available to them. That is why every competition listed on our platform goes through a structured review process.

1. Submission

Competition organizers submit their listing through a three-step form. We collect the competition title, organizer name, official URL, deadline, a description of up to 600 words, prize details, target regions, education levels, and categories. A square image representing the competition is also required.

2. Email verification

Before a submission enters our review queue, the organizer must verify their email address by clicking a confirmation link. This confirms a real person is behind the submission and helps us communicate about the listing if needed.

3. Editorial review

Our editorial team evaluates every verified submission. We check that the organizer is legitimate, the competition URL works and matches the described opportunity, the deadline is in the future, the description is accurate and free from misleading claims, and the listing is genuinely relevant to students. Submissions that do not meet our standards are declined with an explanation.

4. Categorization and publication

Approved competitions are categorized by region, education level, prize type, and discipline. We add structured metadata so the listing appears correctly in search engines and on our filtering system. The competition then goes live on the site.

5. Ongoing monitoring

Our system automatically tracks deadlines. Expired competitions are flagged with a visible notice and eventually removed from the active listing. The competition page itself remains accessible for reference and so that search engines can continue to find it. If we discover issues with a live listing, we update or remove it promptly.

What we look for

We accept competitions, scholarships, awards, and innovation challenges that are open to students at any education level. To be listed, a competition must:

  • Be run by a verifiable organization
  • Have a working official website
  • Be genuinely open to students
  • Have a clear deadline and application process
  • Not require an upfront fee that is disproportionate to the opportunity
