International Logic Olympiad by Nrichminds

About the competition

The International Logic Olympiad (ILO) by Nrichminds challenges school students to demonstrate their logical reasoning, analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Through puzzles and cognitive challenges, participants apply reasoning to unfamiliar problems rather than rely on memorized answers. Questions may involve sets, set operations and basic symbolic mathematics.

Eligibility:
Students enrolled in school or homeschooled in Grades 9–11 at registration are eligible for the Senior Division.
Each student competes individually and must follow the ILO’s academic integrity rules. Unauthorized materials, cheating or outside assistance may result in disqualification.

Deliverables and competition format
Participants submit their answers through online examinations. The initial round includes multiple-choice questions and numerical-entry responses, allows one attempt and automatically submits answers after 90 minutes.
Qualifying students then complete a 60-minute proctored online final. Finalists must have stable internet, an up-to-date browser, a working webcam and microphone, and a quiet, well-lit examination space. Final-round proctoring includes webcam monitoring, screen sharing, and audio and video recording.

Timeline:
- Registration: Currently open for ILO 2027.
- Initial online round: Sunday, 24 January 2027, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
- Final examination: Sunday, 31 January 2027, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Participants should consult [logicolympiad.com](https://logicolympiad.com) for registration updates and examination instructions.

Judging and awards:
Performance is assessed through examination scores. The initial round has no negative marking, and the top 20 overall scorers in each Division advance to the final.

In the final, correct answers earn 5 points, while incorrect answers incur a 2-point deduction* The bonus question awards 10 points for a correct answer and deducts 10 points for an incorrect answer. Final-round performance determines the overall winners, subject to compliance with competition and proctoring rules.

Each division offers first-, second- and third-place prizes worth US$500, US$300 and US$150 respectively, paid as Amazon gift cards (or alternative digital means). An Overall Champions Trophy recognizes the best-performing school. In addition, there are medals and certificates to be won.
